For once I sat in the front of the tram instead of the back. The front is full of the Extremely Respectable---senior citizens and the Immaculate
Petite Bourgeoisie who study their reflections in their shoes and adjust various bells and whistles for better effect---ahem.

The rest of us gravitate towards center and the back. I've written a few things on 'freaks in trams' as we've all had that experience. I've also BEEN a freak on a tram as well as encountering many of them, so perhaps in the Land of Intelligentsia, I consider myself an expert.
